True Story

It was a cold, rainy boring day in 2001 when I was doing the usual, sitting at the coloring table with Raymond drawing pictures of animals, aliens, stick people, and other things that an average 5 year old would be drawing. As I was sitting at that table getting very irritated with Raymond snuffling his nose, I decided I would make this day like no other. I would make it adventurous. Soon it was time for recess. Me, still sitting there bored out of my mind decided to take a trip that recess. Where no other kid has gone. Off of PLE property. So I looked around to see if there was no teachers in sight and boom, off I went, lacking the knowledge of punishment I would get when caught. I ran as fast as my little yellow rain boots could take me. "WHERE DO YOU THINK YOU'RE GOING MISSY?!" shouted Raymond from the edge of the monkey bars. By that time I knew he was going to tell on me but I had no sense in caring what so ever. I got to the parking lot when I started to shake from the coldness and started to crave a snack. I never thought I would think this, but I actually missed the coloring table with Raymond. So I quick looked at my Elmo watch, not knowing what time it was, but still somehow knowing I had enough time to run back up to school just in time for nap hour. So off I went. I made it before recess ended and right before Raymond told the teacher on me. I felt safe, warm, and of course rebellious. I also made it back without any teachers aware of what just happened. Some school right?
